They view me as a facilitator. My role is to support them and ensure that they have everything they need to achieve success. My job is to deal with any interference and remove any roadblocks which they may experience in successfully completing their objectives. This is old school management.
Need to break down into an issues tree - there's the obvious cost / revenue split, but need to deep dive a lot further and know how to prioritise where to deep dive, etc. Analytical and strategic skills combined
Split it out to scale horizontally (multiple load-balanced tiers) and outline how this is deployed via common devops tools (Puppet/PowerShell+DSC). Suggest AutoScaling if they ask how this can work on AWS. (SEEK are a small company, but naturally their apps are high-traffic - they really like folks who can demonstrate high-availability architecture knowledge.)
