I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at eScholar (White Plains, NY) in May 2013
Interview
Met 6 people, first senior developers, then junior developers, then project managers, each round with two people. General, non-technical questions at first, then a programming test, then an interview with HR. Thought interview went well, but wasn't tendered an offer. A bit mystified, I had thought the process went very well and was a good fit. I was submitted through two layers of recruiters, so any feedback got lost. Best I can tell is that the recruiter submitted too high a salary requirement (which I didn't have any control over).
Probably the most difficult part was the project managers, who don't seem very technically adept and kept asking technically awkward questions to reassure themselves the candidate had the basic requirements, seemed kind of bored with technical descriptions. The developers weren't uncomfortable and were easy to talk to though.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Some questions seemed to make sure you had the right experience, namely JDBC, TomCat, Web Services, and SQL.
Programming test was pretty basic, mostly to test your knowledge of SQL and Java Collections, as well as a simple Q and A of a WSDL file. Fibonnaci sequence was thrown in for good measure.
