My interviewer had not smiled once during the interview and just spat out further questions to my replies to his questions without actually considering what I had said. I found him exceptionally humourless. So in answer to his question I said "Well, you seem quite dry." He replied that he wasn't and that his manner in the interview had just been a front to see how I coped with it. I then said that it was hard for me to answer his question if he wasn't showing his real self. The recruitment agent later told me that RBS weren't going to offer me a job because they didn't think I would get on with the interviewer. However they added that I had scored the highest anyone had ever scored in the written test. [This interview was actually in 1996, but I can't select this in the dropdown box]
I was asked about my work experience, knowledge of the firm and my interest in the law. The interviewers were serious, yet friendly and very open. I was enthused by the interview and looked forward to working for the firm even more after the interview.
