I applied online. I interviewed at GlaxoSmithKline (San Jose, San Jose (Costa Rica)) in July 2020.
3 interviewers took turns asking questions. These were behavioural questions that needed to be answered in the STAR format. The interview was for one hour and there were about 12 questions to get through, which I thought was a bit excessive for the kind of questions and time. They also asked questions about when have I exemplified one of GSK's values (standing up to someone for not doing something right), which I didn't have an example for, given I've never been in such a situation and the interviews did not like that. My answers were rather lengthy in order to give context and this was also something they weren't pleased, showing exasperation and cut me off rudely while I was starting to answer one of their questions. Overall, bad experience. I believe that if you are looking to get through behavioural questions in one hour, be smart about balancing quantity and quality or schedule several different interview sessions. Then, even if you don't agree with the way the interviewee is phrasing their responses, don't cut them off and be rude about it. Also, not all candidates have to have had an experience that can answer all of their behavioural questions. Sometimes we are so blessed to work in a highly ethical environment that there hadn't been a need to call someone out and that should be fine. Don't press for an example. Also, carrying interviews in this way gives the candidate with no insight as to who they will be working with, the environment, and other things that are relevant for a candidate to make a decision.
