I worked at Google as an intern (Less than a year)
I interned at Google in the Venice, CA office in LA. This was one of the best, most fulfilling experiences I've ever had. I was lucky enough to be placed on a small team with people who were invested in watching me develop as well as expecting me to prove myself as valuable to the team. My hosts were completely comfortable with me spending time with the other interns (playing video games, grabbing snacks, etc.), working on side projects, taking time to use Google's resources to learn more about any topics I was curious about, and also participating in beach events, all during work hours if it would result in me feeling better about coming to work the next day. I really felt as though Google was a place I could call home, and I would 100% recommend this office in particular to those looking for a smaller, more relaxed office.
There were literally none at all!
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Google (Venice, CA (US)) in March 2017.
First was a generic application field (i.e. background, skills, interests, cover letter, etc). Next round consists of live interview (done over web) asking to answer a number of statistical or programming questions
