I have been working at Nokia full-time (More than 10 years)
Highly international context, various top experts in the ICT domain, modern work culture, state of the art technology, processes, and tools. I appreciate most the open management style, both in communication and in autonomy given to individual engineers. Furthermore, I always had the opportunity to work in various countries, and to evolve my role whenever I kind of felt going into routine mode and wanted to learn and renew.
Very large company, hard to get a complete view on the whole, slow in changing. With respect to salary and other benefits, I have the feeling they target to be just above average, but always fair and reliable.
Advice to Management
Keep targing the right mix in gender, culture, and age; some teams could do with more young people and women.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Nokia (Antwerp (Belgium)) in May 2017.
I delivered my CV to them on a job fair for students organized at my University, then I was invited to the job day event they organized and did speed interviews for the positions I was interested in. They then called me for a technical interview with the team and later on for another technical interview with the supervisor of the team. Most technical questions I got were logical questions related to networks / bandwidth. Not so much about digital design per se. On the first interview with the team I also got many interesting questions about a Master-Slaves networks of optical fiber.
