Winn-Dixie to me is one of those win win company's. They started me out with above minimum wage, I received around 15-20 hours the first year however your usually promoted quickly. After my first year I was promoted to front desk and was given a higher pay along with around 35-40 hours. After only 6 months I received another promotion to cash office. It's hard work but the pay is actually pretty good tho most new employees wont think so at first they may not realize how bad it really is at other stores. Ive worked for Bank of America, Sears Holdings and Kohls and Winn-Dixie still paid more and gave more hours. Overall I do miss working their however I'm in college now working to become a social worker.
Sometimes hard for me to get some time off. The first year was tough pushing carts inside in the hot sun here in Florida but someone has to do it. I cant really think of anything else.
Advice to Management
Management worked just as hard as the regular employees. I have absolutely no complaints.
I applied online. The process took a week. I interviewed at Winn-Dixie (New Port Richey, FL (US)) in March 2016.
Manager did the routine interview, asking questions and such, then after had me pass out flyers to customers and greet them as if I was actually working there. Then came back into the office, filled out tax forms on a computer and discussed the background screening process
