    I have been working at BAE Systems USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    It's all about the people - and at the Endicott facility, most employees - and nearly all management - are wonderful to work with. It's a hard-working, but generally low-stress culture, where making the right decision is rewarded, and short-sighted decisions are rare. Contractors are treated like real people, as well.

    Traffic is zero, and there is a huge variety of outdoor activities within 45 minutes.

    Cons

    Being part of a huge company offers a lot of security and opportunity, but also comes with bureaucracy and inefficiency. Decisions made at the corporate level can make little sense at a local level.

    Endicott/Binghamton is a small city, so don't expect a metropolis.

    Advice to Management

    Keep working to maintain a culture where transparent, long-term decisions are made. Avoid attrition by listening to unhappy employees who might not be bold enough to state their desires emphatically. I've seen a few people leave because they weren't heard, but I know they only voiced their opinion while mumbling at their own shoes. Engineers...
