Configuresoft took all of the hard work out of configuring your hardware and software. The company developed software that automated, centralized, and lowered the cost of configuration management across Windows, UNIX, and Linux platforms. Applications in the company's Enterprise Configuration Manager (ECM) suite included change management, data migration, enterprise security, patch management, and system configuration. Configuresoft was founded in 1999 as Fundamental Software. Among its investors were JMI and Bradcohill. Configuresoft had international distributors in Australia, Canada, and Europe. The company was acquired by data storage giant EMC in 2009.
