Offshore reporting lines - teams can get too dispersed making coordination a challenge
Leadership turnover - leaders moving too fast between roles and lose connection to the guts of the business.
Too much focus on "looking good" and managing up vs doing the right thing and helping to make improvements
Lack of opportunity/willingness to transition mid career employees into new challenges.
Advice to Management
Be more willing to challenge the status quo. View employee feedback as an opportunity to improve as opposed to something to frown upon.
Make sure to distinguish between feedback and gossip, and respond accordingly.

Last week, we shared with you our plans to repurpose existing Dow facilities – including one in Stade, Germany – to produce hand sanitizer, which remains in short supply amid #COVID19. With help from suppliers and regulators, we’ve ramped up hand sanitizer production at four additional sites in Michigan, West Virginia, Belgium, and Brazil. All of the hand sanitizer that will be produced at these four sites has been allocated – much of it for donation to health systems and government agencies – and the first deliveries are expected to begin this week.
