    Pros

    A lot of nice people

    Cons

Favoritism over competence across many departments. If you are a fun person, have a good sense of humor, manipulative, attractive or all four, you will go far at Genmark. You do not have to be an expert or even highly knowledgeable in your area because having a fun-factor and loyalty to your supervisor is all that matters at Genmark. If you are smart, hard working, a strong contributor, accountable and ethical, you will be marginalized and taken advantage of. A CYA toxic culture prevails at GenmarkDx.

    Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at GenMark Diagnostics in February 2019.

    Interview

I went through a recruiting agency and was set up with a phone screen. I spoke with the Regional Manager and thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. I then moved on to a face to face interview with the Regional Manager and his boss. You could tell the Regional Manager was at the complete mercy of his boss. It was less of an interview and more of an interrogation. I found it discrespectful. I declined to fly out to the corporate office for the final interview, which I believe is in front of panel. I was told the panel picks your presentation apart so they can see how you deal with adversity. No thanks!
