Mission: We serve the world by making food people love
I have been working at General Mills (More than a year)
very friendly environment for work
not suitable for someone who is used to work in slow paced environment
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at General Mills (Minneapolis, MN (US)) in June 2018.
Applied online, received an email for an initial phone interview a week later and a week after that an invitation for the in-person. Before the in-person interview, I was asked to fill out two behaviour- based and one decision-making test(took about 1.5 hours). On the phone, it was a mix of behavioural and technical questions (i.e. how do you validate a model, what would you do in x scenario). In person, you were given the same style of questions. The technical involved a 'code-review' case study, less than 20 minutes to understand the problem and give recommendations). Doable, but felt rushed.
Met with a total of 7 people in a span of 4 hours.
Annette Frawley works in our Law dept. as senior counsel, intellectual property. She says: “I wanted to work for Betty Crocker at the age of nine. I didn’t realize at the time that Betty Crocker was a fictional character, but I knew the products with her name on them meant quality and were quite often present on the table during meals, family holidays, birthdays, etc. I remember the day I told my mom I had been hired at General Mills; she reminded me of what I had said as a kid. My instincts about the company at age nine weren’t wrong. I love working at General Mills with teams and individuals who care so much about each other and the consumers they serve. And who are so passionate about quality, innovation, the environment, engaging with those who choose our products and with those who do not choose our products, the farmers in our supply chain, giving back, making a difference in communities of various shapes and sizes. I love being able to still feel a connection to my farm roots. I am humbled by the caring, talented people I am so lucky to work alongside of each and every day."
