Advice to Management
I would suggest making it a standard that hotels employ and overnight chef, although I am sure large hotels would the property I worked at didn't and I believe it would be a positive investment to do so to assist in guest experience and help staff who do overnights. Having assistance and even company helps in considerable ways over various aspects of operations and staff relations with the hotel.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at InterContinental Hotels Group (Melbourne) in October 2017.
Extremely laborious. Went through five stages over one month, to be told upon the final decision that they were going to choose the candidate with no experience relevant to the job, but had hotel industry experience. This could have been decided on at the very first interview.
