I worked at Kindred Healthcare full-time

    Pros

The pay and benefits are good. Reliable income. One manager walked into a terrible situation and did more than someone could ask for given the mess.

    Cons

Work load triple what it should be. Was told corp did not care about quality and could ask them myself. Made a mistake with me and would not make it right. Management wrote up too quickly. Had a VP that was so bad no one would talk to her. Did not recognize things like no falls in 14 months, code blue 2 a week to 1 in three months. Par for dressing supplies was 34 when actual needed was 54 nothing done about it.

    Advice to Management

    Have realistic expectations.

Not too intense, a regular interview question. They want to know your strengths and weaknesses. What are you going to bring to the organizations and what set you apart from other potential employees.

  • The health and safety of our patients, team members and candidates is very important to us. We continue to provide care for our patients and families, as well as one another, and are therefore still taking applications and filling open positions. Due to the current situation related to the most recent coronavirus (COVID-19), we’re leveraging our digital capabilities to ensure we can continue to recruit top talent at Kindred. As your application progresses, you may be asked to conduct more interviews over the phone or to use one of our digital tools to help you through your recruitment journey. If so, one of our Talent Acquisition team members will explain the process and be available to answer any questions you might have. We thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we focus on keeping our patients and fellow team members safe.

  • KINDRED CAREGIVERS ARE RECOGNIZED AND CELEBRATED AT NATIONAL SUMMIT -- The 2019 Kindred Caregiver Summit: "Caring Through Our Core Values" took place in November in Louisville. Caregivers from Kindred sites across the country gathered for three days of learning and networking, with exercises, speakers and other activities designed to recognize and celebrate their dedication. In addition, two Kindred caregivers were named recipients of the Paul Diaz Caring Award for 2019. The award is presented annually to those who demonstrate an extraordinary level of skill, compassion and empathy while caring for patients and residents. The recipients are Jessie Sinosa, (pictured below) a Registered Nurse at Kindred Hospital Northland in Kansas City, Missouri, and Steven Solana, a Physical Therapist at the KRS-managed Brooks-Howell Home in Asheville, North Carolina.
