I worked at Polycom full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fairly straightforward processes and systems
    Good work/life balance
Opportunity to participate in competing at the highest levels

    Cons

Flat structure means sales also need to manage delivery
    Poor partnering strategy
Product strategy is too "safe", generally too slow and always missing crucial capabilities

    Advice to Management

Commit to Microsoft partnership or commit to your own end to end offering .. Current offerings are almost there in both camps, but not quite in either
Realise that cloud is not optional
Commit resources to building capacity in channel .. Forget pgs, it's broken.

    Regional Sales Manager Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Sydney
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 8+ months. I interviewed at Polycom (Sydney) in May 2011.

    Interview

Many phone calls, emails with Country Manager, then in person interviews with others in the management team. Negotiation all occurred by phone and email prior to engagement with HR and formal offer - their engagement was a formality.

    Negotiation

Extended but easy, mainly by email and phone due to remote location of role.
