I have been working at REA Group full-time (More than a year)

    Great work life balance!
Lots of perks (food, celebrations, flexible hours, yoga classes, in-house massage, bring your dog to work, pay by donation baristas)
    Collaborative and intelligent colleagues.
    Cross-functional teams.
Opportunity to generate ideas and make things happen for all roles types and all experience levels.
Hack days for employees to work on ideas they are passionate about.
    Volunteering opportunities.
    Diversity and cultural values.
Guilds and interest groups to help grow employees.
    Chances for internal role changes.
Rituals that help teams self-manage. (retros, stand ups, planning)
Most employees are passionate about what they do and committed to learn and self-improve.
Chances to explore all aspects of design including: research, motion, interaction, writing, visual design.
Work on products that Impact at the national level (millions of users!).
Environment that encourages failing fast and learning.
Women in tech and mentorship programs.

Lack of communication and discoverability of projects across the business means duplication of work and sometimes create missed opportunities. (true of any enterprise level org though)
Design practice is growing and improving, but is less mature than expected considering the maturity of products.
Processes may not always be clear upfront, but you are given the opportunity to create and experiment with your own methods.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.
The culture and values of the company are the true strength of the company.
You empower and grow your people, and in turn, they are committed to help grow the company.

I applied online. The process took 2+ weeks. I interviewed at REA Group (Melbourne) in September 2014.

Three stages : coding exercise, coffee catch up, on site interviews. There are three interviews on site, each is one hour : pairing exercise, technical interview and cultural interview. This is all done fairly and people are friendly.
