    Pros

SmithBucklin has a fairly young employee base. For a lot of people here, SmithBucklin is like their first full-time job out of college. While this company definitely has cons, the pros are kind of worth it (for a short time at least). Starting out, you'll likely get a competitive salary and you'll slowly get acclimated to your client associations. If you're part of a good team, training is quite thorough and you'll feel prepared moving forward. For many, there's an opportunity to travel and to get involved in some great projects. This is the place to truly strengthen your time management, project management, and communication skills in a fast paced environment.

    Cons

Although you'll get a lot of professional experience while working here, you can quickly burn out if you're not careful. It's common to have at least 4+ clients while juggling similar responsibilities within all. It can feel as if you have 5 jobs within one title. My advice is to say "no" as much as possible if you're already busy/overworked but this is hard to do since you're often encouraged to go above and beyond what you're already doing to get a promotion. Asking for help is encouraged as well but it can be hard to find the light at the end of the tunnel when busy periods for clients can often conflict or run back to back. Consistently set work-life balance boundaries to maintain your sanity here!

    Advice to Management

Continue sending out employee surveys to get a pulse on employee satisfaction and actually make an effort to listen/take action. Across all departments, çonsider lessening client loads to a limit of 2-3 and high employee turnover might decrease. Find ways to streamline processes/systems across clients to make learning curves easier for employees when adding to their client workloads. In comparison to some stand alone associations, SmithBucklin is paying the same amount of money but requiring 3-5x the amount of work output. To make it worthwhile, include more perks/benefits to working here (ex . summer hours, more PTO, paid holidays). The one work from home day policy should apply to all full time employees, not just coordinators and above.

Phone screening lasted ~35 minutes with basic background questions and behavioral questions that were pretty easy to respond to, called in for second interview with a panel of three individuals that was straightforward
