Mission: The mission of Southwest Airlines is dedication to the highest quality of Customer Service delivered with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride, and Company Spirit.
I worked at Southwest Airlines full-time (More than 10 years)
Culture promotes individualism and doing your thing to make the customers come back for more.
First couple years are tough as you are on-call and working weekends and holiday's. But it's not a secret and you need to be prepared to put the time in.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines in August 2015.
I applied for the No Limits intern program. Interview process was very similar to other reviews I had read. They contact you and arrange a phone interview before moving onto an in person interview. The interviews are fairly unstructured, asking questions off of your previous response. They really look for your personality and characteristics rather than knowledge of the job. Make sure you know a lot about the company and position and are able to apply your everyday experience into it. Good all-rounder background seemed to help me in my interviews, as I could answer questions with different experiences. Standard interview questions (challenges, conflict, strengths etc.) are asked but sometimes in a more personal or specific manner. Preparation is key!!!!! All the people involved in the recruitment process are so friendly and keen to help, so don't be scared to ask questions and joke around with them!! They are great at providing feedback and getting back to you quickly regarding results of the interviews.
