I worked at The Home Depot full-time (More than 10 years)
Stable Company, can move up if you work hard and ignore the politics. Pay in long run can be good if you move up.
Politics, different messages from different managers. If not part of inner circle will not move up.
Advice to Management
Do not be afraid to listen to an hourly associate who might know more than you.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Blairsville, GA (US)) in January 2011.
The interview process was pretty standard and included basic testing along with personality assessments and general job related interview questions. The interview team was cordial and well informed with a predefined set of questions to cover for basic first round discussions. The impression was that there are usually a series of 3 escalating interviews prior to any type of offer.
