ThoughtWorks – Why Work With Us?

We aim to foster a vibrant community of diverse and passionate technologists. We believe that cultivating an inclusive work environment stimulates open curiosity, promotes courage and helps us be a better partner to our clients. Here’s what you’ll find in every ThoughtWorks office around the world:

  • Building software is a social activity done by teams of brilliant and motivated people, not a mechanistic process. You’ll work on autonomous, cross-functional teams focused on delivering value early and greater business impact overall.
  • We believe that when we help others grow, we grow ourselves. Our culture of collective learning is built on seeking out and nurturing potential, sharing lessons learned and knowledge earned, and celebrating the steps we see our colleagues take on their growth journeys.

We genuinely hire nice, honest, smart people. During our interview process, you’ll find that we focus more on aptitude and attitude as opposed to what's on your resume or CV. Learn more about ourapproach to hiring.

As a consultant at ThoughtWorks, you will have the opportunity to build bold, future-focused solutions for clients from a variety of industries. You could influence the digital strategy of a retail giant, build a bold new mobile application for a bank or redesign platforms using event sourcing and intelligent data pipelines. Aside from traveling all over the country (or sometimes, the world), you will have the opportunity to challenge yourself daily and learn from peers from all walks of life.

Ready for a new challenge?

Grads and Career Changers

Computer science grads. Mid-life career changers. Bootcamp alumni. It doesn't matter what your background is: everyone has the opportunity to launch a tech career at ThoughtWorks. All of our entry-level joiners start their journey at ThoughtWorks University: our immersive entry-level program designed to prepare you for life as a ThoughtWorker. You'll spend five weeks in India or China with peers from around the world learning how to build working software from day one.

Learn more about TWU.

We are intolerant of intolerance. Every day we ensure ThoughtWorks is a welcoming place for people across a spectrum of ability, age, appearance, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity. It’s not lip service. We’re radically transparent about our hiring and training initiatives. For example, the Anita Borg Institute has named ThoughtWorks to their list of Top Companies for Women Technologists, for three years in a row (2016 - 2018), and many of our ThoughtWorkers speak and write openly about inclusivity.

Many of the enterprise organizations we work with have spent years investing in new business capabilities, integrating acquisitions, and modernizing technology stacks, essential to bringing best-of-breed solutions to market. However, these strategic investments can result in a tangled mess of legacy technology, skill-sets, processes, and culture.

We bring 25+ years of global software delivery experience to every partnership. We help our clients to remove technology roadblocks and leverage their core assets. Our clients think big. They trust us to deliver disruptive thinking and innovative technology that empowers them to succeed. From big banks and global retailers to revolutionary healthcare start-ups, we’ve built the software behind some of the world's most successful businesses.

    Difficult Interview

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at ThoughtWorks (Hyderabad (India)) in July 2018.

Very well designed interview process to very well understand the capabilities of the candidate. Not focussed on a particular technology. They try to understand if you are a real developer at heart

    Interview Questions

    • The coding challenge that I got was on the lines of seeking natural text as input and processing instructions based on the context.   1 Answer
