    Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Treasury Wine Estates (Melbourne).

    Interview

I spoke to the internal recruiter over the phone before my interview as I wanted to ensure I was right for the role as I knew I had some gaps (which I knew I more than made up for in other areas). I was advised that these gaps weren't a focus of the role. It became apparent during my interview that these gaps were an issue as the recruiting manager kept asking me to provide examples of performing certain tasks that I hadn't performed before. It became pretty uncomfortable to say the least. I was advised that I would hear back about the role the following week. I never received a call. Instead, I was approached by another one of their recruiters via LinkedIn a couple of weeks later asking if I'd like to apply for the same role as my skills were a perfect match. I advised that I had actually interviewed for the role and had not heard back. She apologised and said that she would obtain feedback for me that day and be in touch. I never heard back from anybody at TWE again.

I get that people are "busy" but it's not a lot to ask to provide feedback to candidates that have taken time out of their day to prepare and be interviewed for a role that clearly hadn't be well articulated across the business. The irony is that I've been offered a role that is more senior to the one I interviewed for with a company that is 5 x the size.
