    Pros

It's great to offer Vitas services to the physicians offices and hospitals. Vitas is the best in caring for your love ones. The nurses and the caregivers are amazing, they really care!

    Cons

Stressful job due to pressure from your manager. 1st time you don't hit your monthly goal the rep will get verbal warning. 2nd month you don't hit your goal the rep will get written warning, 3rd month is final written warning and 4th month the rep is out! The turnover for this job is fast, Vitas can't hold on to great Reps due to pressure given by the management. Once the rep hits the goal on a monthly basis, the manager will increase your goal the following quarter not considering a lot of factors. I loved doing my job as a Vitas but the unreasonable pressure is too much!

    Advice to Management

Be considerate of your Reps, don't give them unreasonable goals to achieve!

    Patient Services Coordinator Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in Lombard, IL (US)
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at VITAS Healthcare (Lombard, IL (US)) in December 2019.

    Interview

I have been invited for in person interview with hiring manager.
When I arrived for an interview, I was asked to complete an assignment before interview and typing test. After showing up my results to HR person, they advised me that I did not score enough on typing test and should have a more practice. I asked if I will have an interview with hiring manager as I was invited. She stated no interview will be conducted because the position is required a great typing skills. I did very well on my typing and I was very upset about my experience with hiring process. Not even given me a chance to have an interview and then make a decision if I will be a good fit for a job

    Interview Questions

    • No questions have been asked since was no interview. In the same day received email from HR department advising me that they will not be moving forward with my candidacy. Very bad.   Answer Question

    Wanted: More Male Hospice Nurses

Men are increasingly interested in nursing as a career, and VITAS is actively seeking male nurses to work in the hospice profession. Likely nursing candidates might be veterans who have gained experience as medics or military nurses. They could be sons of nurses or doctors, inspired to follow in a parent's healthcare footsteps.

Enterprise Management Forges More Effective Healthcare Mobile Strategies

VITAS Healthcare, one of the nation's largest hospice providers, delivers comprehensive hospice services to patients wherever they call home. Until a few years ago, physicians, nurses, chaplains and social workers would visit patients armed with laptops and bulky binders filled with paperwork. The technology helped providers complete clerical work, but also created a barrier between patients and clinicians.
