I have been working at Verily Life Sciences full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Part of Alphabet/Google, very smart coworkers, many projects with a really inspiring mission. Opportunities to work with skilled technologists, scientists, doctors, etc.

    Cons

Highly-regulated space, products take a little longer to launch than most tech projects. Lots of challenges related to finding a business model/niche for our products in the crazy US health care system.

    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Verily Life Sciences.

    Interview

Standard interview process - recruiter via phone, followed by 1 team member via phone, and then a face to face with the whole team via Google Hangouts.
Answered all the questions, seemed like a great fit, as I was working for a rival company. The hiring manager was happy with my experience and background.

Never heard back from the recruiter, when I reached out got an automated email back saying I was moving forward and that was it. I pressed further and asked for feedback, this time the recruiter replied with the job is now on hold and we will reach out when it reopens.

Absolute shambles of a process from the recruiter - reached out prior the end to ask if I could send a thank you note to the team for their time, no reply. No actual interview with HR or Recruiter in the final stages either.

Guess what? - the job is now back on the market, no contact from the recruiter even though I passed through the stages.

Word of advice - the staff seemed stressed and rushed during the interview process and when asked about the work/life balance they visibly strained at answering the question. I would avoid this place, seems Googler's get first dibs at Life Science here, even though they have no experience in Life Science.
