The PA office is far from Philadelphia, making the commute to and from work painful. Given all of the benefits that the company offers, this seems like a small price to pay. The work can be exhausting at times and there's often a vibe of "get in down no matter what" (i.e., sacrifice outside of work commitments). This is understandable in most of the situations, but there's certain people within the company that you find expect this more regularly than others.

The lack of industry-specific training coupled with sometimes unrealistic expectations leads to misaligned expectations from supervisors and colleagues. This ultimately leads to frustration and disappointment from everyone who is involved. There is nothing wrong with wanting the work product to be high quality and as error free as possible. The problem arises when you are not permitted to make mistakes at any point during the process of developing the work. Depending on the project team, the slightest mistake can cause other project team members to scold you and pass on negative comments to your supervisor, unbeknownst to you, instead of providing constructive feedback. This does not foster a positive work environment. It is the definition of toxicity.
