Pros

Great office, people, challenging work assignments, training, focus and clear project mandates. International exposure to other ANZ offices and partners in Australia, Europe and Asia. Excellent and relevant training. Talented colleagues generally, and some amazingly brilliant ones. Good word life balance (left before 6pm most days).

Cons

Bureaucracy, office politics, time consuming and bloated procedures for software deployments (but somewhat typical of the industry as a whole). Otherwise no complaints. Oh, and don't forget the quota system! For the sake of diversity, there must be a certain % of "insert appropriate word here" as project managers, leads, etc, so this can work either for you (easy to get a job in ANZ) or against you (blocked from being promoted into that job), depending on if you fall in that category or not.

Pros

Great work life balance and competitive wages.

Cons

Very Political in IT. Silo teams, a lack of collaboration between technical support teams. Poor Management and Leadership being driven by India/Singapore & Manila. Lack of recognition for old timers who leave ANZ, no gratitude shown. Jobs are filled offshore without being advertised within the teams. Most are roles being offshored to India and now Manila. A small pool of IT support personnel left in Australia a ratio of 2:10

Pros

good salary good location good working hours intention to become a leading investment bank in asia

Cons

no real in house development - i.e. more purchase of banking s/w and customise for their purpose. not really engineering solutions

Pros

Pays well, good work life balance, interesting software development problems to solve in some areas, incredibly dull in others

Cons

Amazingly silly decisions made by senior management at times. The review process is a farce, strong teams are implicitely discouraged by grading on a curve amongst tiny sample groups.
