Pros

The team was strong, collaborative, and professional. The working environment was calm and well-organized, with no unnecessary overtime and no constant “firefighting” situations. Processes were stable, expectations were clear, and the workload was reasonable. Overall, it was a positive and comfortable experience.

Cons

It was hard to reach a senior level internally, as the promotion path was not very clear. Some parts of the project felt over engineered, and certain technical decisions seemed unnecessarily complex at times.

Pros

Interesting projects and lots of opportunities to improve things. The company is AI-first, and some legacy projects written 15 years ago, with all the best practices from the Gang of Four, still have room to scale. You would probably need a PC with at least 64GB of RAM—great opportunities to learn a lot about fintech and become a better engineer.

Cons

Cross-team collaboration is terrible - every team is protecting its area, and sometimes in a toxic way, which makes ownership principle adoption complicated. In every cross-team collaboration meeting, you need to be prepared to negotiate by saying "No." Meetings could start as early as 6 am PST, so you can wake up earlier and take advantage of lower-cost charging at Tesla Chargers. Also, you could easily receive a sudden message by Thursday that Friday is your last day in the company. Lots of "yappers", so you will have a real practice applying your Behavioral Interview learnings.
