I have been working at Aerohive Networks full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company struggled a bit, but has fresh direction for products and hired great people to move things forward. Management connects with and motivates the people, which is refreshing. Co-workers are wonderful to work with. Benefits are good too. Overall, I would reapply to join.

    Cons

A bit more cross pollination would be nice to see what others are doing or to fable in other areas. MBOs get paid out every six months, causing turnover twice a year which is disruptive to work.

    Advice to Management

Keep going with SaaS model. HiveManger is so much better than competition.

I have been working at Aerohive Networks full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great people. Small tight teams that work well together. Plenty of fun projects to work on. I definitely feel like i make a difference. Flexible hours. Never have any problem when i need to focus on personal time or issues.

    Cons

Aerohive moves exceptionally fast and it can be overwhelming sometimes for some people. I personally like this, but for some, I know this can be tough.

I have been working at Aerohive Networks full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some friendly colleagues and interesting people

    Cons

The company has not been able to meet commitments for many quarter. Recently there was shake up in sales team and this is the solution every time when they are not able to sell . Most of engineering leadership team has no vision and execution style. Promotion is a joke and have not seen any engineer promoted soon. Don’t join here. And waste time. Tell me last time you had a open conversation. Worst quote I have seenhere...

I worked at Aerohive Networks full-time

    Pros

Worked for Aerohive for almost 4 years. Company has nice new headquarters, nice snack room, SaaS Model, good ESPP program.

    Cons

Leadership that is outright dysfunctional. Lots of infighting among Execs all more worried about their fiefdoms than the business. Culture is of not taking accountability in general and beating down others to try to mitigate ownership of their responsibilities. High producers in sales are let go based on manager whims. Turnover is rampant - some high OTE's stay in positions for a few months and are either let go...

    Advice to Management

Since there is little chance AH will gain market share with current management and Board, sell the company and/or assets. CXO's should retire and promise never to auger a company into the ground again like they have with AH Networks.

    I worked at Aerohive Networks

    Pros

Unlimited PTO policy (if you use it we'll) Dog friendly office

    Cons

Managers let bad employees stay too long and drive out good employees by overloading them. HR also does a bad job of finding quality talent. They just look for candidates who have big company experience in the valley. Company is also funding new projects by cutting jobs or not back filling employees who leave. This has led to a huge decline in morale. The company sales strategy is a fat 0 as the company fails to hit...

I worked at Aerohive Networks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The technology - it's pretty good, and they have some cool competitive advantages when it comes to wireless.

    Cons

Wow . . . where to start . . . 1. Leadership. There isn't any. Aerohive has a collection of micro-managers and no true leaders. It's depressing. 2. The culture. It's toxic. (I've experienced back-stabbing first hand.) Plus, go to the company HQ, and it's eerily quiet. Lots of whispers. Even the sales floor is quiet for 20+ people that are supposed to be on the phone all day. Lots of other people seem to...

    Advice to Management

Sell the company, and never try and run another one again. You're not cut out for it. Stick to developing products since you can't develop people, let alone lead them.
