I have been working at Alaska Airlines full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Mine is a union job. Lots of flexibility and added company perks, including medical, life, AD&D, HSA (company contributed), dependent daycare FSA, and more. Most significantly, we have great flight perks and can travel when we have time off.

    Cons

In some union positions, it takes a number of years to get to the highest pay level, and the largest annual pay increase is at the end of your annual step wage increases. So, the carrot is dangled way down the road.

I worked at Alaska Airlines full-time

    Pros

Great benefits. FA role is not overly supervised. Lot's of independence. Great layovers. Lovely co-workers. Brad Tilden is as good as CEOs ... The leaders at the executive level are amazing communicators. They get back to concerns from employees at every level of the company.

The company is growing but is doing a pretty good job to maintain the personal "small company" feel.

    Cons

Seattle base is filled with an intoxicating corporate pressure. The company culture is much more relaxed, laid back, and enjoyable at the other bases.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to eliminate toxic managers/management.

I have been working at Alaska Airlines full-time

    Pros

    - They are a really good company that promotes advancement
    - Flight benefits
    - You would get raises yearly
    - Offers 401k
    - Offers medical, life, dental insurance etc

    Cons

Just like any company, seniority will always be favored. Expect to pick up shifts that were tossed to you. Expect mandatory OT. You have to work your way up and prove you’re worth it!

I worked at Alaska Airlines part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits for all staff including full and part time. Don't take the flight benefits as the only reason to work here. The are space available and standby so there is always a possibility of being stranded and forced to buy a full fare ticket on another carrier.

    Cons

There are really no cons but the make you fill in this are. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

    Pros

Such a great company and they are getting ready to do big things. I will reapply for sure!!!

    Cons

Cons are having to wait a long time for the station that you want. After graduation you are pretty much on your own as far as finding a crash pad, flights are hard to get which mean your pay is very low.
