I worked at Alsco full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Large, multinational company with long history in Australia. New Regional General Manager is good, supportive and has high ambitions.

    Cons

Old technique in Production, low wages and salaries, company does want to achieve too many goals within too short time (as in the last decade not much improvement has been done...). Un-supportive Branch General Managers. (Non) - attendance of Delivery Drivers (sign of low engagement with the company) and that it is tolerated.

    Advice to Management

Pay more, set long term goals and accept that there will be worse numbers on the way to achieve them.

    I worked at Alsco

    Pros

Appropriate amount of deliveries per day are good to start of with and the amount of items per delivery is also good to start with

    Cons

Deliveries increase unacceptably as you gain experience as they begin placing new customers in your run on a weekly basis

    Advice to Management

    Pay increase

I worked at Alsco full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Autonomous. Not micromanaged. Car.

    Cons

Laundry industry is a bit depressing. Product isn't exciting. Let down so many times by the service department resulting in angry customers and lost commission. Too much can go wrong out of your control that can lose your commission. Low base salary

    Advice to Management

Try something new, support fresh ideas

I have been working at Alsco full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Amazing benefits. Holy hell.... so great... and your going to need it with this job. Stay active from beginning to end of day. No downtime. (double edged sword really) Potential to make some really good money regardless of education or experience prior. There are some good apples within the company and most clients are very pleasant to work with. You have the weekends off.

    Cons

Majority of upper/middle management is cartoonishly bad....evil? Sometimes you are expected to do certain tasks that are against company policy or even the law *gasp*, sometimes directly ordered to do so by your "superiors", but if it becomes an issue, they will throw you under the bus and deny any wrong doing. ...and if you don't do it, you will suffer in some way. I could go on for days about this......just a warning...

    Advice to Management

Stop killing the company and the employees just so you can cash in on your bonuses. You are damaging the integrity of the company and reputation... just constantly. The pattern keeps repeating, it never works, but you keep doing it. Also stop hiring (and rehiring) serial-sexual assaulters. Stop screwing with and demoting the good managers you have, they are the only thing keeping the company running and keeping the...

    Cons

No talking Low pay Not consistent with hours Stressful

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to treat people with respect and not like they are children. Try having a second shift so the production won't be as behind and people can actually have a life outside of the job. Start people off with at least $9 an hour for the work required for their position here. Try letting people know that they are doing a good job instead of always pointing out the bad. Making people feel good about their work...

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Alsco full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Fellow staff members, non-managment, are awesome.

    Cons

Power and control managers. They are mean spirited. For example. Using double standards with RSR start times. Company policy does not apply to Medford Oregon plant. These mangers make up their own rules.

    Advice to Management

Replace current management. Find leaders, not manipulators.
