I worked at AmeriCan Adventures full-time for more than a year

    Pros

See lots of places, hang out with a semi-diverse group of passengers.

    Cons

They overwork you, especially for the pay. Their business model is to break DOT laws to make profit, and it always comes down on the driver (tour leader). You pay for their mistakes and for trip issues - they don't cover you at all. They get everything out of their leaders, which then drains passengers' experiences. Company/job culture is mostly about drinking - on the job, during free time, at the office, on the rim of the Grand Canyon (with passengers). Lying to passengers is supposedly the best way to succeed in the job, according to management and both veteran and newbie trip leaders. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had with management at a job, and I've been a busboy at a French wine bar. Surprised they're even still in business. They've been one infraction away from getting banned from the Grand Canyon (again) for the last two years.

I have been working at AmeriCan Adventures part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Travel America, meet people from many different cultures. The company is very supportive and are eager to help when needed. The camaraderie between the group leaders makes for a great support system during and between trips.

    Cons

Lots of driving 4-7hrs a day. The pay is low for the amount time and energy you put into everyday.

I worked at AmeriCan Adventures full-time

    Pros

Casual atmosphere with like-minded people passionate about travel. Very fun events and perks to the job.

    Cons

Quite competitive with all the interest in office roles driven from tour leaders wishing to come off the road. Not a ton of room for advancement. Pay is adequate but not outstanding.

    I worked at AmeriCan Adventures

    Pros

You get to see the World basically

    Cons

The pay was low when I was there but it's gotten better. However, you don't have many expenses so you can save. I make $70k a year now and still somehow came our ahead when I was living out of a van.
