    I have been working at American Express full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    -great culture -management easily accessible -excellent pay for band 25 + penalty rates + incentives easily hit 75k -great brand -great clients and products

    Cons

    - low career progression can progress to analyst with little to no trouble however progressing into leadership is an impossibility - no funding for anything. Self funded Christmas party, small budgets for everything -preferred candidates at every internal role

    I worked at American Express full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The company has is very good at hiring people (customer care professionals). You will find great friends in this organisation. Additionally, the infrastructure in place is good, as well as little benefits like health care, free food is common. Management in general will treat you well.

    Cons

    The biggest downside is that if you do TOO WELL as a Customer Care Professional, you will not be promoted to other roles in the organisation. Your metrics are your leader's metrics as well and as such they do not have any incentive to lead you to other roles - its sad. Its very common to see people with not so great results get promoted, because their manager does not want them. However this is isolated to the Customer Care Professional role and teams only. Other teams I have been in are normal (I didn't have the best statistics and I was promoted).

    - flexibility in regards to work schedule - high base salary for a entry level job + incentives - lots of projects

    Cons

    Hard to move up fast. A few seniors seems to have very little expertise and aren't tech savvy.

    Freedom of being yourself, amazing leadership support. Phone access. 7.5 hours hustle for a day.

    I worked at American Express full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Senior Management takes care of their employee. They understand how stressful the job can be and are always open to talk if you need any assistance with work or struggling with your personal life. Classroom Training and OJT provided. You can count on your coaches to guide you through the learning curb. Attractive Salary + Allowance + KPI Target Initiative.

    Cons

    Because it's a financial institution, all calls are recorded and monitored. It can be quite stressful as you always have to courteous on call. After the learning curb, the job can be quite tedious as you're mostly on call 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. (Senior Management sometimes provide logout for meetings) Night Shift (Servicing US Market).
