    I worked at American Express

    Pros

Flexible life/work balance, mostly nice folks, values diversity, pleasant working environment.

    Cons

Unfortunately like most folks, I go to work not for the frills but for the base pay, which isn't very much. Also as an employee I was unsure of the outlook for the company in Australia

I have been working at American Express full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Quite a flexible work environment with possibility of occasionally working from home. Nice well-maintained office space. Mostly highly motivated and professional employees.

    Cons

Treated poorly as a 'band 25', offered training and promotion during interviews which was never to eventuate due to head count constraints and colleagues having no interest in providing training. Spoken to as though I am everyone's personal assistant and am not a valued member of the team with potential for advancement. Ridiculous budget constraints in some areas while none in others.
