I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Interesting work, good colleagues. Nice building.

    Cons

Industry in transition. Highly cyclical. Job satisfaction highly dependant on middle management capabilities (choose wisely).

I have been working at Analog Devices for more than 3 years

    Pros

Genius engineers, bright observers of market trends. There are extremely talented folks throughout the organizations and the internal conferences are great opportunities to broaden your knowledge and network.

    Cons

Not really sure management understands that career development is a strong desire from younger employees. A lot of this depends on who your manager is. If your manager isn't giving you what you need, there aren't many options for you. Upper management is good at communicating high level strategy, but middle management struggles to develop efficient ways to execute on these goals - leading to lots of wondering by the lower level folks. No clear promotion pathway. Anti-social culture at least in Greensboro since so many people commute.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some flex time, stability, average benefits. I️ honestly don’t have much else so I’m filling up this space with words.

    Cons

No work from home, starts as contractor, low pay, poor corporate culture. Middle management is excessive and useless. Average workers are paid well under industry averages. Company only cares about bottom line. Doesn’t use money to invest back into its workers but rather acquire more companies it doesn’t need. Lifers clog the system and there’s no advancement. Complete old boys club. No diversity. Old white men at top. Do not work here past three years.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits and access to any resource to help you do your job better. Great profit sharing. An overall sence that leadership is there to help the individual contributer be productive.

    Cons

Middle management out of touch. Too much focus on strategic (long term) efforts and not tactical (day to day). Many current programs are starved of people causing missed deadlines and employee stress.

I have been working at Analog Devices for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great work/life balance. You get to work with great people who are very smart and you get to work with cutting edge technology. The new CEO seems aggressive and is fast tracking the advance of the company (although this has led to more layoffs with the acquisitions).

    Cons

Lots of red tape with many many layers of middle management and inefficiencies as a result of the red tape. Lots of paper work that accompanies red tape. Salaries could be higher.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Leadership from upper management. Bonus and Compensation are competitive. Respectful and pleasant working conditions.

    Cons

Middle management could use some coaching...Remember, it takes money to make money. Depending on location. They seem to keep the good ol' boy system going. They don't try to put money into new blood because they are spending to much on the old blood whom are no longer relevant.

I have been working at Analog Devices full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Stable company recently celebrating a 50th anniversary. Significant revenue stream from legacy parts. Large cash reserves. Few day to day existential crises.

    Cons

    - Stable company with little vision breeds laziness, internal politics. - Middle management is over-sized and not aligned. Decisions aren't made. - Company composed of many small teams with limited collaboration between them. - Little reward for the developers and few hardworking engineers that produce the successful products. No incentive to succeed. - Technical talent largely limited to converters and a few isolated businesses. - Upper management exhibits lack of technical understanding and judgement, ultimately leading to bad decisions, acquisitions and investments. - Executive vision is cliche, lacking depth and examples. CEO and CTO are both marketing focused.

    I worked at Analog Devices

    Pros

Great innovation, flexible , great applications and some good people in the company. Entrepreneurialism is promoted within the company. Autonomy is also supported.

    Cons

To rigid, influence needed to make progress, promotions systems are old and protect current management. But workload is too high on too few people. Middle management change is needed.
