I have been working at Anglo American full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good wage, opportunities to move departments and to move up. A lot is expected of you and generally high work hrs in its underground mines. Open cut is more relaxed

    Cons

Graduates are usually thrown into straight engineering or coordinator roles. Not much time to actually do the graduate program. This puts on a lot more stress however you learn a lot quicker

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Anglo American full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Big company, potential for movement, well paying roles plus bonuses (depending on commodity prices)

    Cons

A lot of old timers that have been in roles for years, makes it hard for people to progress up the ranks.

I worked at Anglo American for more than 10 years

    Pros

Challenging projects and interesting work problems, opportunity to contribute experience and make valuable changes to future outcomes.

    Cons

Sometimes political and resistant to accepting changes proposed, based on good engineering and business practices. Bigger isn't always better and their decision to sell of Australian Coal assets has now been somewhat reversed so they need to rebuild their team.

    Advice to Management

Suppress politics and focus on putting the right people into the right roles. Value the people as without them you don't have a business.
