    No Opinion of CEO

I have been working at Ausgrid full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Great for work life balance.

    Cons

Red tape. Now run by accountants and HR, very little regard to engineering objectives. Senior management very reactive.

Former Employee - Marketing Coordinator in Sydney

I worked at Ausgrid part-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

This used to be a fantastic place to work. Unfortunately, the constant threat of redundancies, applying for your own job and lack of power in a negotiation have overshadowed this

    Cons

As above - redundancies, applying for ever diminishing roles, senior management seeking their own political gains.

    I worked at Ausgrid

    Pros

convenient location. co workers generally helpful to each other. Plenty of technology to explore and learn. Workplace safety is a real concern and priority.

    Cons

Way too much politics. Decision are made for personal gain, not the good of the company. No real incentive to innovate. poor communication from senior management.

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Ausgrid

    Pros

They still currently employ me, so i guess that's a pro. I work with some great colleagues, even if they are being pushed to their breaking points by decisions management are taking.

    Cons

In the past 5 years there has been a slow a steady dismantling of everything that made Ausgrid great. We used to hire apprentices, and now we don't. Our training section is slowly piece by piece being dismantled. The Learning centre at Silverwater , which was opened only 5 years ago at a cost of $75 million is gradually having its specialised training facilities removed, ostensibly to make room from staff from other depots that are closing. Our last EBA expired in 2014, and management is still refusing to provide a realistic new offer. Senior management is clearly preparing to slash more from the company in preparation for the new owners.

    Positive Outlook

    I worked at Ausgrid

    Pros

Easy going non stressful work environment

    Cons

Very poor senior management - cronyism is rife wit them - decisions are made to suit the "values" and agenda of this group and not for the benefit of the organisation and its empolyees

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Ausgrid

    Pros

Rostered Day Off, Good Money, Annual Leave at half pay effectively doubling annual leave entitlements

    Cons

This company is autocratic, militaristic and is just plain evil. It hates its employees. It is built on giving orders to construction workers. It is still living in the 1950s when they took in ex military as workers and needed to discipline staff with iron fists. People are not grown, encouraged to grow or developed in any way. There is no leadership only military style dictatorship. Disa bilities and mental health issues seen as disciplinary issues rather than supported. Bullied by management and senior management and by construction workers. Nails placed under car tyres. Made to wear an adult device around neck as hazing ritual. Unprofessionalism everywhere. Do not work here as it will affect your mental health.
