    Pros

    Working a 7 hour day with excellent superannuation benefits and option to purchase up to 12 weeks of annual leave Extensive training and support Interesting work

    Cons

    Career progression is kind of slow compared to private sector roles

    I have been working at Australian Taxation Office full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Decent pay, great flexibility and work/life balance, very friendly and supportive environment, getting a lot more with the times recently with the new Commissioner's focus on reinvention.

    Cons

    While the Commissioner's reinvention focus is improving things, the organisation is still very stuck in their ways in a lot of areas and suggestions for improving or modernising practices can be either met with resistance or shelved because it's perceived as too difficult to retrain the old blood.
