    I have been working at Avaloq full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    The company tries hard to create a good work-life balance for its employees, despite the longer working hours. With flexi-time and remote working it's easy to fit work around your schedule. The Edinburgh office is a nice place to work, with adjustable desks, lots of natural light, a roof garden, yoga, free fruit, decent coffee machines and lots of cake. In terms of spending the company is also very generous - a budget for education is allocated to each employee, there are expenses-paid trips to the Zurich office, and any initiative to improve workplace culture is given a fair hearing. It's not a surprise then that the Edinburgh Office is a happy place to work: everyone is friendly and helpful.

    Cons

    It's difficult to separate from the Zurich office - some things would be better in Edinburgh if more freedom was given.

    I have been working at Avaloq full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    There is a clear management focus on trying to get a good work life balance and ensuring that stress is not undermining performance. People are very friendly and easy going. The international environment is invigerating and there is a sense of innovation and achievement. I think there is stronger ethos around quality core software - swiss style - compared to other places I have been.

    Cons

    So far, not a great deal negative to say. The matrix structure appears somewhat unneccessary to me and the targets and KPI's are a little confusing - perhaps an issue of transition.

    A place to stay if you are not looking for career advancement, increment or bonus Work life balance

    Cons

    Company has been making losses. No increment or bonus for many employees Hire and fire of employees can take place in less than a year. Good employees are leaving companies BPO technology and products are not fully ready for customers Only one BPO customer currently and customer is not running on full fledged BPO technology. Company seems to be struggling to find new customers
