    Pros

Benefits - annual share plan, maternity leave

    Cons

Minimal career development and progression. Role responsibilities do not match salary (significantly lower). Bonuses are at management discretion. Extremely slow systems and processes, do not invest in bettering these and do not have a change mentality.

I have been working at BT Financial Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible working conditions, have met some lovely people, some perks are good.

    Cons

Culture is the worst I’ve ever experienced - so toxic. Senior leadership likes to manage rather than lead and those that get on the good side despite the skills they lack seem to be promoted. Only looking at quick bandaid fixes vs long term solutions. Must be a yes person and not voice your concerns to fit in and be liked. Miles behind the game in providing technology access and system set up when transferring internally...

    Advice to Management

Stop focusing on your KPI’s and start focusing on your people. They are miserable. Happy, satisfied employees = more productivity and profit.

I have been working at BT Financial Group full-time

    Pros

Overall culture is supportive for growing your career.

    Cons

Management for the Wealth Advisers are questionable. Their lack of direction and understanding lead to the ultimate failure in this business. They basically would throw you under the bus as soon as they receive any pressure from upper management.

    Advice to Management

If you have no experience been a financial planner then you should not be a manager for wealth business.

I have been working at BT Financial Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great staff - always friendly, happy, interesting, lovely and fun!

    Cons

Lots and lots of really poor customers who are rude and very very intellectually challenged. Customers are always asking for Financial Hardship applications and withdrawals. They scream in our ears: “it’s MY money!” And swear at us about the fees we charge. BT has the worst demographic of customers, they are mostly poor and we spend a lot of time speaking to unfortunate customers who are rude and belligerent. Not a nice...

    Advice to Management

Management needs to find a way to get rid of poor customers who are draining them of resources. Google has a method where they have created an algorithm that deciphers whether a particular customer should be kept and which customers they need to let go. BT needs to find that algorithm for themselves and try to allocate CRCs time more efficiently by weeding out poor and rude customers who take westpacs time and money...
