Good on paper, not always great on execution

      Pros

Great staff Benefits (cheap interest rates, lower fees) , leave policies (6 weeks annual & flexible sick leave for salaried staff), D&I policy (with the CEO as chair of the D&I Council), has a Māori strategy (for banking and a development programme for future Māori leaders & building Māori cultural intelligence across the bank)

      Cons

There is an appetite to do great things for our customers and for our colleagues (a word to describe the BNZers I work with using a VERY impersonal term (IMHO) from the UK where our group CEO was for his post job. That word literally stripped the humanity out of the People I love to work with. Also, changes to work alongside and in a more competitive way with our Australian Patent Company colleagues is an absolute joke. Let’s call it how it is. We’re having to implement things (supposedly in a collaborative way) with 24 hours notice, without the support to do it properly OR more importantly, how it reflects Aotearoa and our own people and obligations to Te Tiriti! I’m trying to be creative and collaborative in every way, but I am not empowered to make any decisions or do my role! A programme of work I run has been through so many changes due to this indecisiveness which has caused so much stress!
