      Pros

      After working in the Financial Services industry with a large Wire House, Bankers life was a great change of pace. The training is second to none. Bankers Life offers you the opportunity to work closely with veteran agents, managers, and financial advisors in order to help develop the skill sets needed to prosper in the industry. While you are in the training program, you will be running appointments with professionals that have the goal of seeing you succeed in your business. The doors are always open to any question that needs to be answered. Bankers Life has changed the lives of many people here in St. Louis! There is not another Insurance/Financial services firm I would rather be associated with. We are truly that one stop shop for full scale retirement planning.

      Cons

      This career is not for everyone, but if you are willing to put in the work there is no ceiling on your income or professional growth.

      Amazing training program, awarded "Top 25 Training" Unlimited earning potential Great Bonus and Match's when you hit goals If new to Insurance Industry they teach you the everything from Medicare, Health, Annuities, Life insurance and more They pay for your licensing and pay for more if you want to become a Financial Representative.

      Cons

      Commission, however if you work hard and follow the system they have that works, you will do great. You can not be lazy and expect to make money.

      Pros

      Bankers is a commission only business. They pay you exactly what you are worth. They have a fantastic training program that gets new agents up to speed very quickly. New agents are sent out into the field with a more experienced agent until they feel comfortable working on their own. They are observed conducting various aspects of our business such as phone calling, door knocking and giving product presentations. The bonus program for new agents allows new agents to build monetary success very quickly. It is very hard work but the rewards for an agent's efforts are definitely worth it. There is a great process to follow. This career allows a person the ability to genuinely help people with several products that will affect them and their families for a very long time.

      Cons

      If an agent does not follow the established process, their success will suffer. If a person does not handle rejection from strangers, then this is not a career for them.

      Unlimited income potential Can be a 6-figure opportunity within 2-3 years with hard work Opportunity for growth into management Training programs are incredibly thorough Continual office promotions Fun office culture

      It is entirely up to you (if you succeed its cause of you - if you fail it's cause of you) Initial ramp up time of 4 - 6 weeks to start truly succeeding.

      Pros

      Great sales agent development approach: Banker's Life's training program offers new agents on hands training with senior agents and provides milestones to credit progress along the way.

      Cons

      Driving in Maryland is not safe (negative) but Agents that are on the road can do their part to drive responsibly (positive spin).

      Training program is solid, even though managed poorly and inconsistently

      Cons

      - Compensation is commission only. - If you're a good prospector (cold calling / door knocking / chasing everybody, this is for you. - Decent CRM but Leads provided are very questionable
