Pros

Owner and managers really want you to succeed. You get to run your own office with a Patient Care Coordinator as your team member. Accrued PTO. Weekends and holidays off.

Cons

There is low base pay and strict commission rules. You make 18% of sales or $20/hr and 10% of sales, but if you lower the sales price by even one dollar, your commission gets cut in half. The product is expensive and very hard to sell. Also, if the patient returns their product, you get the commission taken out of your next check.

Pros

NONE...UNLESS YOU LIKE TELEMARKETING TO OLD PEOPLE!!!

Cons

Before you even start you have to wait a month till you get licenced by michigan. Earphonics over promises how much you will actually make. I was told between $65,000-$105,000 first year. After talking to senior sales reps told me they were only making $40,000 a year, after 5 years in the business. On average, new reps are making minimum wage, and you are a telemarketer calling old people trying to get them to buy hearing aids...and you can't even tell the old people how much the hearing aids cost until you show them the contract, and they have sticker shock... All other hearing aid companies, let the customers know up front how much the hearing aids are. DON'T SIGN THE NON-COMPETE FORM!!! RUN TO COSTCO, THEY ARE STARTING AT $60,000 A YEAR!!!

Pros

The history of the old Beltone was a strong company with a proud family bond.

Cons

Prior to the shift in management Beltone was a superior company to be employed. Currently the new president, a former gym and weight loss enthusiast, is swiftly making changes without any regard for employment history or the companies well being. The lack of industry knowledge or experience on her part is shining bright. The atmosphere is draining with a big brother type of approach. The physical work conditions are both cramped and chaotic. Recently the insurance rates have doubled and the vacation time has been slashed. There is complete disrespect for the employees.
