Not an enjoyable place to be

Pros

Actual work is interesting and rewarding

Cons

Probably one of the worst work environments one can be in. Very overbearing, self-centered, and controlling boss/owner that will critique your every move. Low pay for the education required. There are no soft benefits to this job in any way. Cannot leave the office at all during the day. The owner proudly and verbally rejects the idea of human resources. You're requirements once on the job are much different than what is explained in the interview. Owner may tell you they will bequeath the company to you or a coworker as if you were visiting Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Don't believe it. I cannot express enough the amount of stress this job will cause you with no reward beside people being mildly impressed when you tell them you work in forensics. I was rushing for the door in less than a month.

Pros

A pay check is a pay check, right?

Cons

Wrong. There is a lot that could be said here, but I think it can all be said rather simply. If you care at all about your self esteem or mental health, do not cross paths with this job. A toxic, demeaning learning and working environment is a sure way to extinguish any passion for the work or the subject.

Pros

Biomedical forensics is always hiring

Cons

Low pay, almost no benefits, controlling owner and no training. You will work a lot of hours with no overtime.
