Pros

The individuals and teams that I've worked with have been fantastic, I love some of the people that I've worked with here.

Cons

Multiple waves of layoffs that were handled really poorly. They are now mandating return to office policy under the guise of "improving culture". The real reason being that they are hoping for people to quit so they don't have to do layoffs and stop losing money so quickly. They often market themselves as a great place to work with work life balance and flexibility, but those things are no longer true.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. We are aware there are many different viewpoints around in office work requirements. For Bushel's recent return to office, our ask is for local employees to come into the office 3 days a week. We are still providing flexibility to set working hours and have always trusted each employee's judgment to take time away for perosnal commitments. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels supported, valued, and able to contribute their best work. We believe that encouraging in-person meetings and office visits will play an important role in achieving this. We are open to feedback as we roll out this return to work policy and feel free to bring this feedback to your manager or anyone in the leadership team. If these organizational changes are not aligned with what you are seeking in your career, we wish you well in your future career endeavors and hope you find the right organization for you.

High turnover, low pay. You should probably stay away.

Pros

Free Betterhelp access to help you endure working at Bushel ;)

Cons

-Mediocre pay (despite what leadership may tell you about being paid market rates, you're still probably/will be under paid.) -High turnover -There are many individuals in leadership positions who probably, in my opinion, shouldn't be, including those in the c-suite -"Flexible PTO": open/flexible/unlimited PTO policies largely benefit the company itself rather than its workers, despite how leadership may frame the "benefit" (e.g. "No PTO accruals or balances!") 1. It's a well-known fact that workers at organizations with such policies take fewer days off on average (13) than workers who accrue time off. 2. Since workers don't accrue, or earn time off, the company isn't obligated to pay them out upon departure. 3. The company benefits from this seemingly anti-worker policy financially, like demonstrated in the second point, since they're no longer required to record PTO as a liability in their financial statements. -It seems like certain reviews, like the one titled "Empowering and Supportive Workplace" from May 18, 2022, may have been written by HR or someone influenced by HR/leadership in an effort to artificially inflate the average rating and overall sentiment. Disappointing if that's the case.

Well, at least we can agree that Betterhelp is a great resource and we hope that you did take the opportunity to use that service. - In regards to pay, we won't bore you with our typical response. However, while we try to stay competitive, we know we might never be the highest paying employer. But we do our best to find other ways that we can reward our team. - Also we acknowledge that with flexible PTO, we do run the risk of team members not taking advantage of the days and taking less time. That's why we did go to a limited PTO for a couple years. However, we came back based on factors that we believe benefit both the employer and employee. - Anyone in the team may leave Glassdoor reviews and we all have they expectation that they are honest experiences. We wish you well in your future career endeavors and hope you find the right organization for you.

120% Fluff

Pros

This company doesn't know it's Bushel from it's Elbow, so if you want to work here, just make sure you take advantage of them just like they take advantage of their employees. Take the vacation, take the benefits, and do the 20% quality job they're asking for. If you jump through the hoops, there's really no reason you ever need to do any real work.

Cons

This company is 120% fluff. All of Bushel's products are hyper inflated, and none of them are ever what they appear to be on the surface. Buyer beware, this company only succeeds because it's slightly better than nothing, and enjoys lying to their customers, and even more so to their "partners".

It is saddening to hear that you are having such a poor experience at Bushel, that you think so little of the organization and yet you remain. The working relationship has to be symbiotic for both the employer and employee and some relationships just don't fit. Based on this style of feedback that you are leaving, you might consider you might be happier elsewhere, perhaps with a fresh start and a renewed perspective.
