    I worked at CDK Global for less than a year

    Pros

    I got the job via a staffing agency, so it was a 3 mo. contract. They offered to extend it as I was getting close to the end, but I moved on to another opportunity. I think this role is a great stepping stone in a young professional's career and can be flexibly applied to a variety of future employment opportunities. I loved the team - young smart people, everyone on the team was very helpful, and I adjusted and learned quickly. The team culture was awesome and I made a lot of friends. The pay was ok.

    Cons

    They mostly hire contractors for roles of this level, so you really have to fight to get the full time spot with benefits. Management isn’t very involved and seems distant.

    Pros

    They love their upper management. Very impressive how many they promote themselves.

    Cons

    They tend to let go the people that do most of the work & burdened the ones that are left holding the jobs. The latest news to sell off digital is not going to help keeping the best folks.

    Pros

    Coworkers are great. Work from home days when horrible weather hits and once a week. 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick time and 1 week personal time. Medical Benefits are okay for what's out there in the industry. Self work growth (Certification).

    Cons

    Retention started too late, too much unknown for current employees and new employees aren't going to be able to retain clients. Self work growth (certification) is great but you earn chump change in comparison to someone coming in brand new to the role which is a failure on the company. They ask you to take on more responsibility but won't pay you for it and will guilt trip you into doing it. Got rid of Free Food Fridays. You PAY for parking ($210 currently next door and the company DOES NOT reimburse you) but will let you write it off on taxes and reimburse you. They will post jobs internally and the recruiters will ignore your emails, disrespect you on calls and through emails and then cancel positions and not notify you. Also they will lie lie lie! Bug infestations and random funk smells through the office. People will steal your lunches.

    Pros

    You get a high-level knowledge of all things related to digital marketing. This is the perfect job to gain experience for the next agency position.

    Cons

    The position is glorified tech support with no actual control over anything. Advancement is based on case studies, not performance. The Detroit location has no management support and hiring from within seems like a foreign concept to CDK. The job is dictated by a fickle OEM and moral related to job security is low.

    Great place to work. Great people. Lots of things to learn.

    Cons

    Parking downtown. If you're a temp employee, no benefits, no PTO, no holiday pay. That's not fair to those temp employees. Some can't afford to miss too many days of work due to holidays. They also take a while to hire temp employees full time.

    They don’t physically hurt you

    Cons

    Where to start? They lie about contract workers getting hired on full time. No benefits, no sick days, no paid days off, parking is expensive but you can’t afford it on what you get paid. Non contract workers get paid lots more for doing the same thing. You get no permissions to do anything. AVOID. This company is going downhill, which is impressive for how awful they already are. There’s a reason everyone is looking for new jobs.

    Flexible, cool people, decent pay

    Cons

    They are no longer hiring direct hires only contract employees. They will lie to you and tell you that the contact is 90 days to hire BUT DON'T BELIEVE THEM! The contract situation is a s*it show and literally makes you feel like a slave. They expect you to provide the same level of service as your peer who is a direct hire, receives benefits, makes $5-$10 MORE than you, and are able to reap the benefits of the company such as working from home. If you are interviewing for the Detroit office be aware that parking is over$200 a month, the contact benefits they offer are $450 a month, and you get no paid days off. If you are okay with being lied to and treated unfairly in comparison to the other staff then APPLY TODAY!
