I have been working at CDK Global full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Coworkers are great. Work from home days when horrible weather hits and once a week. 2 weeks vacation, 1 week sick time and 1 week personal time. Medical Benefits are okay for what's out there in the industry. Self work growth (Certification).

      Cons

Retention started too late, too much unknown for current employees and new employees aren't going to be able to retain clients. Self work growth (certification) is great but you earn chump change in comparison to someone coming in brand new to the role which is a failure on the company. They ask you to take on more responsibility but won't pay you for it and will guilt trip you into doing it. Got rid of Free Food...

      Advice to Management

Stop hiring people who don't have the appropriate experience to handle working with dealers . How you do expect to retain dealerships when you can't even retain your own employees on the digital side? Especially when they don't have the experience. Listen to your dealers!!! They are asking for agency creative stop having content work on quantity and focus on QUALITY. CDK is deemed to fail if they don't focus on quality.

I have been working at CDK Global full-time for more than 10 years

      Pros

BK (CEO) appears to be the kind of leader (client focused) the company needs

      Cons

The company was ravaged by the previous CEO and is drastically in need of much of the talent that was cut or walked out in sheer frustration. Anyone who joins the company now takes on the work of 5 people and leading teams not large enough to get the work done.

      Advice to Management

      Hire more people, period.

      Disapproves of CEO

I worked at CDK Global full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

Good work / life balance, engineers are dedicated, smart, and always willing to lend a hand.

      Cons

Low morale is pervasive throughout the company. A new CEO is certainly promising, but change so far is not noticable in morale or company culture. It is incredibly difficult to backfill reqs, which just adds more work and stress to those left behind. In this era of low unemployment, it's hard to find and retain top talent.

I worked at CDK Global full-time for more than a year

      Pros

You get a high-level knowledge of all things related to digital marketing. This is the perfect job to gain experience for the next agency position.

      Cons

The position is glorified tech support with no actual control over anything. Advancement is based on case studies, not performance. The Detroit location has no management support and hiring from within seems like a foreign concept to CDK. The job is dictated by a fickle OEM and moral related to job security is low.

      Advice to Management

The moral is low because there is no management support in Detroit, while other locations get continual support and praise from their management teams. Those who do good work and actually know their job are not rewarded. There is a high turn over for a reason.
