    Incredible talent, strong brand, mentorship culture

    Cons

    Currently recovering from a blend of financial impacts. A recent reorganization will yield long term benefits, but near term disruption is palpable and demoralizing for some.

    Pros

    Compensation is good but inconsistent People mean well but it's impossible to succeed

    Cons

    Old CH people culture is long gone Almost no real awareness of the competitive market Internally focused New ideas and people are repelled with great efficiency Unstable and partially owned by Venture capital-Apollo Management

    Surrounded by talented, committed people Great work opportunities Upward mobility Company has a great future ahead CEO has done an amazing job of communicating to people in the company. We have access to an exceptional level of understanding of the company strategy.

    Cons

    Typical of a company of this size. There are always trade-offs - bigger company is not always as personalized and doesn't suit everyone's style.

    Pros

    Excellent people to work with. Professional and caring. Allows for entrepreneurial initiatives and building of functions if you have the ability to execute. I have seen many careers develop and flourish at CH2M.

    Cost cutting due to project losses has hurt morale

    Pros

    Competitive pay Middle of the road benefits Stock available, but poor investment for the short term.

    Cons

    Leadership has no understanding of how to build teams and organize around Profit and Loss performance. No real project controls, denial of systemic problems, expect more project losses. Executives that have their heads buried in the sand and determined not to listen to concerned employees.

    Global, Oregon-founded, engineering and client services at heart

    Cons

    As the company grew and got bigger, the ethics became less important than a few long-term executives making more money and promote from within their own inner circle to protect selves.

    Pros

    Strong ethics and sense of doing what is right for the right reason. Entrepreneurial and empowering. The firm does most any kind of engineering imaginable, which means employees can set their own career path (provided the firm's needs are being met). Strong technology organization and career path. Staff are to be responsible and accountable - good processes for making that happen. Very flexible place to work - great work/personal balance.

    Cons

    Financial system is excellent in many ways, but makes Project Managers have to get into too much financial detail (the system could be much simpler to achieve the same goals). Getting work can be largely up to the individual depending on the situation. To advance in the firm may mean you need to relocate.
