I have been working at CIL Management Consultants full-time (Less than a year)

      Pros

Excellent training, an opportunity to work in a variety of project types and sectors, small teams and a close knit office.

      Cons

Hours can be long, no more than is to be expected in the industry. At the lower levels of seniority it can be more difficult to have complete control of your time.

I have been working at CIL Management Consultants full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Varied work and early responsibility - and this actually happens Fantastic colleagues who are incredibly good at what they do Structured and high quality training which is made a priority. This continues at all levels. Both internal and externally provided training is fantastic Engaged senior leadership team who take the time to get to know junior staff members and are keen to High quality and collaborative consultants...

      Cons

Hours can sometimes be long and are mostly unpredictable but this is always monitored and you are given time off in lieu Previously I would have said diversity, but there has been a real focus on improving this - the attitude of the senior management team in doing all they can to support this is impressive

      Advice to Management

Need to more clearly articulate the proposition to clients and communicate the full suite of services offered in a more structured way Sector teams need to be more proactive in marketing and winning work from the bottom up - these could also be more clearly defined to drive thought leadership and expertise As you start to specialise should be able to gradually start to reduce the sectors you are required to work across....

I worked at CIL Management Consultants full-time for more than a year

      Pros

I left CIL c.1 year ago as an Analyst and have since moved into a corporate strategy position. Below are the best parts of working at CIL as an Analyst: 1) Supportive Culture - team manager will always stay and help analysts to finish their work. Analysts are encouraged to ask questions. Company has very little internal politics. 2) Great Exposure - new recruits are often asked to attend management meetings...

      Cons

As with all consultancies, especially within the M&A space, the hours can be unpredictable and long but TOIL days make up for some of the extra work put in.
