I worked at CSG International full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    +Interesting work
+Flexible hours for the most part & unlimited PTO (just get your stuff done type of philosophy)
    +People

    Cons

-Management is oblivious as to the LOE required to "keep the lights on" (its normally high) so you wont get noticed/promoted unless you're taking on large flagship projects

    Advice to Management

Find a way to give more credit/recognize to those who have to put up with handling the necessary lesser tasks that keep the business running.

I worked at CSG International full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great work-life balance
    Unlimited vacation
    Decent work from home policy
    Great people
    Casual dressing
    Laid back environment

    Cons

The technology is not exactly cutting edge, and CSG has not made the best choices in the tech they use. This decision is made by the higher ups, and developers have little control on what technology is being used.

It's easy to stagnate, since there isn't new technology to use or learn. Most of the tech that is used isn't the greatest, or is outdated. Most of the things you will end up learning are proprietary.

There is a lack of good or great developers. There are some great people at CSG, but most developers are average. A recent hiring blitz brought on many new developers, with few good developers to help guide them.

The quality of the code could be much better, should management allow developers to take a step back and refactor the platform.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your developers, if something needs to be refactored or rewritten, take the time to do so.

Get more input from employees when it comes to making decisions about technology.

Enforce best practices when it comes to the code base.

I have been working at CSG International full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wide approach, a lot of projects and growing possibility

    Cons

In Colombia everything is centralized in one person and this person tries to control all, even when exceeds her limits. That made of CSG Colombia a bad place to work.

    Advice to Management

Review the power concentration and internals operations managed and performed by the Comcel manager

I have been working at CSG International full-time

    Pros

Casual environment, flexible schedules, challenging work

    Cons

As with anywhere, some teams are great to work for and some teams not so much. Some teams push boundaries of technology and continue to work on the bleeding edge, and others stick with the old technology that they are confortable with.

I have been working at CSG International full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

People are the best thing about CSG. We aim to hire the best in a diverse environment.

    Cons

Some are focused only on process even if it doesn't make sense. Many have been there for years and years so have a tendency to get comfortable in their current positions and not as engaged as they once were.
