I have been working at Camp Australia part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Working with Children and being able see them grow - Had really good regional managers

    Cons

    - Everything is shipped overseas in the Philippians. Making it hard when all HR, Staffing, IT and basically everything is not in the same country - To fulfil the coordinating job properly you have to work a lot of unpaid ours - Schools do not get enough resources sent out meaning that coordinators may have to buy extra items for the service - Although my regular staff were great other staff members should not even...

I have been working at Camp Australia part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great group of people to work with on a day to day basis - Good pay (I get just under $25 an hour) - You choose your hours and shifts, so great flexibility - Wonderful kids - Always hiring, easy job to get

    Cons

    - You choose your hours and shifts. There usually aren't any. - They're always hiring, which means the company is oversaturated with staff. - When you do get a shift, if it's at a school you don't usually work at, there is a 90% chance your shift will be removed and given to the regular staff at that school. - On the other end of the previous scenario, if you're a regular at a school, you often get taken off shifts...

    Advice to Management

Sort it out, seriously. I love OSHC work. I want to be a teacher when I graduate university. I absolutely adored the school that I worked at for a year, and was good friends with the students and my colleagues. I know it's cheaper to outsource the company to Asia, but for ease of communication, please relocate it back to Australia. Communication is the main reason parents, staff, and schools are leaving the service!

I have been working at Camp Australia part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Working with children was fun, rewarding and great when you have supportive families who were approachable

    Cons

Lack of support from management, would go months without seeing Regional Manager even though they lived close by, was often working alone out of child to educator ratio. Admin was constantly increasing but no extra time was given to complete tasks, coordinators are often refused admin or clean up time that they have worked. Head office always concentrated on mistakes you made (even if they were an accident or you were...

    Advice to Management

Go back to basics. Too much emphasis on bringing new customers in and making more money, the emphasis should be on "making kids smile" and building relationships with families, schools and staff. Supporting you field staff (assistants and coordinators) is essential, they're essentially bringing the business in and parents notice when they are over worked and stressed.

I worked at Camp Australia full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Professional development opportunities depending on the department

    Cons

Company is lacking direction with executive management seeming to have conflicting views. No career progression Hugh churn of staff Lack of communication from management Low salary No processes Inconsistent Poor Company culture Head office out of touch with coordinators and assistants

    Advice to Management

I worked at Camp Australia full-time for less than a year

    Pros

None - worst company ever. Will loose all tenders and be out of business soon enough (24 to 36 months). No care for children's safety. No resources for the children. No qualified staff. Unbelievable that they are allowed to continue to operate. (Banned from tendering new business in NSW - Vic next!)

    Cons

All the above - worst moral compass ever.

    Advice to Management

Start again or give up - for the safety and well-being of the children.

    Cons

    - under qualified and inexperienced staff - 2 hours of work a day - underappreciated with no support - shifts being cancelled at the last minute - staffing expecting CASUAL employees to call in sick 24 hours in advance

    Advice to Management

Learn to appreciate floor staff instead of cutting back all of their shifts, they need to make money to live too.
