I have been working at Cargill for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Pay, vacation, safety culture, people.

    Cons

Work/life balance and no overtime for salaried employees who work through the weekend.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a system to compensate salaried employees who are working weekend hours.

I worked at Cargill full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Very understanding, approachable and open business. Competitive wages, bonuses and overtime. Work life balance is on mind of all employees and recommended by managers to follow it. Great company to learn from and they are willing to put in the investment if the employer is willing to put in the time. Endless possibilities of careers within the company.

    Cons

Peak season hours can be long but that is expected in the industry. Sales and operations should work as a single identity and have the same benefits and privileges, ie: bonus structure

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what your doing, it was a great work experience for myself.

I have been working at Cargill full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Cargill is a huge company with 155,000+ employees and more opportunities than you can imagine. Great pay and raises, bonuses yearly. Great benefits. If you are wiling to put in the hours/work you will get noticed.

    Cons

Long hours and a lot of weekend/overtime work even on salary. Upper management can be stressful. If you work in the feed and nutrition division of cargill you will work your tail off.

    Advice to Management

Hire people and pave a better route to success. It was either sink or swim for me and luckily, I am a swimmer. Other good employees could lose hope and fall through the cracks.

I have been working at Cargill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Safety is number one priority and comes first before money making. When you work for Cargill be assured you and your family will always be safety conscious and achieve zero accidents.

    Cons

The company is more like a training institute, where you can learn almost everything. It can only be tiresome to someone who does not enjoy learning as all training lessons are mandatory

    Advice to Management

Invest more in technical training s additional to safety training's

I worked at Cargill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

None whatsoever. At all nothing good.

    Cons

Treat people like caged animals. Management is always right especially when they have no clue what’s going on. I had to get out of there. If you’re apart of Cargill, congratulations you don’t have a life anymore.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Great people like human beings.

I have been working at Cargill full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great atmosphere with the people I work with. The jobs are not extremely that hard to do. Everyday is a challenge if you like challenges in the workplace.

    Cons

Non competitive wages for industry standards. No reward for the amount of work that gets piled on.

    Advice to Management

Pay your production supervisors competitive wages. Balance reward versus work for supervision.

I have been working at Cargill full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Big on safety. Decent culture

    Cons

Be careful what location you end up in. Certain locations are highly racist. And Cargill tends to struggle with diversity in those areas. Management preaches on "diversity & inclusion"; however, management literarily bullies employees and makes employees feel left out. You could regret working here if you find yourself in this situation.

    Advice to Management

Do better with making all employees feel welcome and showing that you care. People come into companies to grow and learn, not to be belittled and "shut off" By management.

I worked at Cargill full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pay and benefits on par or slightly below other large companies.

    Cons

Outsourcing of HR, IT, and financing department might save shareholders a few dollars but makes trying to perform job difficult and disengaging. Very silo'd between company businesses, even despite push to standardize. Applied and interviewed for an internal position and had to reach out to recruiter after not hearing anything back for over a month after onsite interview. Very unprofessional manner to treat... internal candidate and can't imagine how outside talent is handled.
